This is day one of a 30 days of May project. I will be posting a themed shoot everyday. Todays theme is 'ME' and I interpreted this as something that represents who I am and what inspires me. I particularly enjoy expressing myself through clothes and experimenting with different textiles. Here, I was inspired by men's business wear. One of my main hobbies is keeping up with latest fashion trends, I love reading fashion magazines front to back, like Vogue and ELLE. I've previously seen an editorial shoot like this in such magazines that break the stereotypes of how women are expected to dress. I aimed to emulate the masculine and androgynous energy that these magazines show through the strong and commanding posture of 'man-spreading'. I also decided to attempt an at home 'studio' by pinning a white sheet to the washing line and set up a tripod with a wireless clicker so as to take the images on my own. It has been interesting to adapt, in the current times, and find places to shoot pictures and so this set up worked very well considering.
See you tomorrow for the next shoot.
